You can book adventure trips through most hotels or booths in the city. I chose to go through my hotel: Cool Sea House on booking.com in Phuket, Thailand because I trusted the owner of the hotel. I paid 1600 Baht (Less than $50 USD at the time)! I booked the trip the night before after some research on other adventure options.
Be careful with who you book with. Watch out for scams associated with different companies. Check for reviews on Yelp or other trusted websites. Double check the email after confirming your booking. If it doesn’t have an image in the logo of their email name, it’s probably a scam. If the email is found in your junk folder, it’s probably a scam (double check- some emails may be legit*). If the email address changes or doesn’t have legit address names, then it’s probably a scam. If you believe it to be a scam then call your credit card and cancel it! Don’t follow through because you think you have to!
Sometimes the taxis/mini buses will take you to a sales booth in the middle of your ride from the airport to the hotel/hostel. Don’t always settle with their prices on day trip deals. They know you are a tourist and will charge you more!
Don’t let them overcharge you. Do some research before you go! I compared prices online before I booked through my hotel.
